to be or not to be...organic
we've begun a discussion on what it means when something is organic. i gave the kids a laminated cheat sheet to help remember which fruits and veggies we should always buy organic. the kids took the cards along to the grocery store in search of the organic produce on their cards. needless to say- we spent quite a bit of time in the produce section!
brush incisors and brushing teeth
we read i know why i brush my teeth and learned about incisors, molars and canine teeth. then we practiced brushing our teeth, paying attention to brush in gentle circles rather than up and down...
mia thought the toothpaste was too "spicy"...

t is for teeth
since we were discussing teeth i thought it a good opportunity to show off my tooth collection! after studying each tooth we played a guessing game. the rules were that without peeking and only using their hands they had to guess which tooth was inside the sock. we also used the teeth as props while reading nice try, tooth fairy.

we made a pretend dentist office! we had a dentist appointment book to take appointments and dental charts for the patients...
scissors + straws = lots of fun
this is a messy but super fun game. all you need are some scissors and straws- and all you have to do is cut part of a straw. sound too simple? nope- this was the preferred activity for about 20 minutes. not only did the boys have a blast- they also strengthened their fine motor skills...
