celebrating holi.

i played this clip for the kids so they could see all the amazing colors and fun that takes place during holi

afterwards we made homemade beetlejuice (lime juice mixed with seltzer water and green food coloring, topped with blueberries). we got the recipe from julian's wizard book.

eventually most of the kids' glasses looked like this.

blowing bubbles is inevitable with such cool straws (thanks raquel!).

the rest of the day was spent in the sun at prospect park. such a nice way to welcome spring.

bonus st. patrick's day photos.

our edible rainbow.

seamus's scavenger hunt was a huge success- i imagine he was quite happy with himself!

working on a rainbow for seamus...

the kids put their offerings on the windowsill (whipped cream, gold coins, a nice message and our rainbow, of course) in hopes of luring seamus back.

valentine's day.

we decided to make (edible) valentines for the animals outside, since we all agreed they probably never get any...

it was fun watching where the kids would chose to hang their valentines.

who needs store bought valentines? we had tons of handmade valentines to exchange with one another!

i modified this recipe to make our valentine's day treats a bit healthier. they were a lot of fun to make!

...and to eat!
