pizza time!

one pizza cut in 8 pieces is still one pizza. two halves make one whole. if a pizza is cut into four pieces, each piece is a forth. these are the concepts we explored last week. the pizzas we painted had a day to dry and were ready to cut. i drew lines on the back and the kids could decide how many pieces they wanted. then the pieces were arranged and glued to take home...

our trip to puppetworks...

to prepare for our trip to puppetworks we read the snow queen and afterwards the girls painted pictures from the story...
we turned our art table into an ice palace!
the kids found a way to squeeze inside and have a picnic...

winter olympics!

our olympic flags...
we made up our own winter olympic games.
we had different obstacle courses and races. what i loved the best was hearing the kids happily shout out "it's a tie!".

president's week...

for president's week we focused on george washington, abe lincoln and president obama. i told the tale of washington and the cherry tree and afterwards talked about the importance of always telling the truth, even when it's scary or difficult. 
continuing our chinese new year celebration we finished our chinese dragons, which were a hit!
outside the kids had fun searching for icicles...
