birthday celebration- montessori style!

we sang a birthday song as coco held our "earth" and walked around our "sun" 5 times- once for every year of her life.

and afterwards had a delicious picnic!

the kids are allowed to tell secrets only if they share it with everyone- and when they do it's the cutest thing (as you can see in these two photos)!

human needs... shelter

we talked about the human need for shelter and afterwards put some old boxes to use! 

we also checked out the broken angel house, although sadly i forgot my camera. we brought photos of the house in order to recognize it. i told the kids which direction to go but left finding the actual house up to them. they were so proud upon recognizing it all by themselves!
