we went on a nature scavenger hunt...
we play this game every time we walk back from the park- the kids like to pretend they are seeds...
i sprinkle some pretend sun and water on them...
they begin to sprout and...
they blossom into different trees! there has been a goggle tree, a dress tree, a fruit tree- the list goes on...
we also like to take note of all the flowers popping up!
you can see why it sometimes takes us over a half hour to get back to class...
we planted some tomato plants...
while working on an experiment with lima beans i was reminded of jack and the beanstalk. some of the kids hadn't heard of it so i told them the tale and they loved it so much we decided to make our own beanstalk!
