cooking class...

making muffins...
and our own sandwiches...
cutting fruit...
making apple and beet juice...
we also had a fry bread party! the kids made their own individual fry bread topped with a bit of powdered sugar and apple sauce.
look at those faces!
the final payoff!

experimenting with colors...

we spent some time revisiting mouse paint and discussing what happens when certain colors are mixed together.
for snack time we used food coloring to make different colored cream cheese
we also painted with shaving cream (a great sensory activity) and afterwards had fun exploring the different textures of the shaving cream. water was accidentally spilled onto the table which worked to our advantage as it demonstrated the concept of cause and effect and changing states of matter. some areas were runny and others were more dense...
we are so sad theo will be leaving us! everyone has been talking about wanting to go to india with theo. we decided to make him a valentine as he will be missing our valentine's day party. the kids then made individual cards for theo, everyone making sure to include his favorite color green and adding a batman symbol (another favorite of theo's).

our trip to the children's museum with the tiny radders...

the power of chocolate...

we played "chocolate bingo" which the kids loved of course. each shape had the name of a color printed on the inside- the kids did a great job sounding out each color.
we played until everyone filled their whole bingo card, and then promptly ate a hershey kiss!

playing with face paints...

fiona as a princess...
sonny as batman...
...and coco as orphia!
