in honor of fiona's birthday, we had a "celebration of life". the candle represents the sun, each ray representing a month of the year. here fiona is standing next to her birthday month, about to walk around the sun while holding the earth to signify that the earth goes around the sun once every year. since fiona turned four, she walked around the sun four times...
...and afterwards she got to blow out the candle (a job everyone likes to help out with)!
as a continuing part of the celebration, we made gingerbread. theo and sonny seemed to be the only ones interested in making it- although everyone was interested in eating the final product!
