we celebrated saint lucia day- first we looked on a map to find where sweden is, then we studied the swedish flag and afterwards everyone made their own...
...followed by making lussekatt (or at least our interpretation of it)
we also discussed how throughout sweden the eldest daughter in each household wakes up very early to bring lussekatt and coffee to her sleeping parents while wearing a crown of lingonberry leaves with seven candles. unfortunately marlowe left a bit early which is why he isn't in the picture below...
